Sweden is closer than you think! The 7th Annual Triathlon will again feature the friendly Swedish communities of the Chisago Lakes Area. Paradise Park offers an eagle eye’s view of the swim course. The Swedish influence abounds throughout the event with participants finishing under the Swedish flag, enjoying pancakes and ice cream.

THE COURSE
Youth Event
Don't forget about the YOUTH TRIATHLON on Saturday July 21. All participants receive a shirt, goody bag, food and fun after the event. Awards given to each age.

AWARDS

Awards will be given to the first overall female and male winners of the Half Ironman. 
Over $5500 in prize money awarded to the top F/M winners:
1st- $1000, 2nd- $600, 3rd- $400, 4th- $300, 5th- $200
Unique Swedish Glass awards will be given to the top 3 male and female in 5 year increments:  14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90-94, 95 and up.   Awards to the top overall 3 relay teams, Athena and Clydesdale. Medals are awarded to the Half finishers.

THE COURSE
Swim Course
The swim is at beautiful Paradise Beach/Chuckie Lundquist Park in Chisago Lake.  Plenty of buoys will be available to rest if needed and a balloon arch as the guide for the finish point.
Bike Course
The bike course is new: few rollers, mainly flat. The run goes through charming residential streets with community support and several water stations.
Run Course
Both run courses follow residential roads.  Roads are well kept and flat.  

QUICK BIKE SAFETY CHECK CAN BE DONE AT FOREST CYCLE AND SKATE TENT the morning of the event.  Fairview Lakes Health Services will be providing excellent medical coverage for the weekend. We will have massage therapists on hand for the Half Ironman.

Disposable chips are used so participants do not have to come early the day of the event to pick up their chip. The chips are secured around the ankle using a vinyl strap. For those interested re-usable Velcro, neoprene straps will be available for purchase at Registration for $2.

We provide technically sound, safe, and exciting events.  Participants receive a
DRI WICK SHIRT
, goody bag, chip timing, massage, ice bath, food, chocolate milk, coke, bottled water, misting sprinkler and fun after the event.

We will have wetsuit strippers on the way to transition from the swim to assist with the removal of wetsuits. 

Bike racks will have your race number and wave you start in.  The courses have highly visible signage for each turn: bike course marked every 5 miles and run course each mile. There will be plenty of water and replenishing drink stations. The Half will also have Hammer gel, fruit and carbs for the run and bottle exchanges for the bike.

Results will be posted after the event on our homepage and photos of the event will be available at John M. Cooper Photography.

EVENT RULES AND INFORMATION
1. Wetsuits are legal. Water temperature is 73 degrees.
2. Helmets and swim caps are mandatory. 
3. Bike course- NO MP3 players, IPODs, radios or headphones allowed.
    Run course- they are allowed.

4. Drafting and littering are not permitted. Penalties will be enforced for both.
5. Please remove all equipment from the transition area after the Awards Ceremony. 
6. Bike safety check Saturday and morning of the event. (optional)
7. Chip Pick-Up is during the registration times. 
8. Athena and Clydesdale optional. Athena is 150 lbs.+ Clydesdale 200lbs. +

. For safety reasons, we ask spectators to not follow your athlete in the car.
     The best place to watch is at the transition area and the finish line.

10. Transition closes 15 minutes prior to the start of the event, 6:45 a.m. SHARP!
11. We do not give refunds this includes no refunds due to weather, water  
      conditions, etc...
nor do we transfer fees from one race to another.

12. All participants must provide an email address in order for the
     event organizers to contact you in the event of a change to the race.
13. Course cut off times: Bike - 1:30 p.m. Run - 3:30 p.m.

VOLUNTEER
Get a front row seat as a volunteer!  Volunteers are needed throughout the event to help with participant body marking, directing athletes on and off the course, and handing out water and food.  All volunteers receive a t-shirt, food during the race and a big thank you!!!
